The Minelab E-Trac and Explorer SE emulators are great tools. Written by Max Derouen, they are fully functional metal detector simulators that can help you become familiar with the detector's interface and menus. They also show you how the detector responds to targets. The target data used by the emulators is provided by target files; some come with the emulators, but you can also create your own.
